Fun, thoughtful, quirky, provocative, purely Halley-esque. Just go read it. I don’t have time to add my own two cents this morning, but that’s okay. You’ll be thinking up your own responses and that will be even more fun than reading mine.

A friend has objected to some of Halley’s comments, so I went back to check and did find one factual misstatement in Halley’s fact-laden and extremely serious piece:
Halley is too young to remember, but I’m not, and the the ur-car was in fact a Bugatti.

I found it interesting that Halley choose Thunderbird as the make of car she and the girlfriends made. Because any guy’s first question when asked if they would like to go for a ride in a Thunderbird is: What year?
For every guy knows that being seen by other guys in Thunderbirds of certain vintages is a social fax paux worse than taking a bath.

Well, they’ll have fun, fun, fun til her daddy takes the t-bird away. Patriarchy always rears its ugly head, don’t it.
