Although we are in England now (where Flickr-ian Bollops recorded his own hedgehog rescue in this photo), I am still hooked on Sweden’s news in English at “The Local.” Where else would I learn about hedgehogs in springtime,

Not to mention telecommuting witches…some of whose magic might help out those Swedish hedgehogs!

As a telecommuting wizard somewhat entangled with Sweden I can attest that there really hasn’t been any winter worth speaking of this year. There were promising signs back in the fall (remember the first snow in Stockholm?) but they fizzled out pretty soon. Spring essentially arrived just as you left.

It didn’t use to be like this. Back in the 80s temperatures in the -20 to -30C range were routine in the Stockholm area during January-February. This year it never even got cold enough for the lakes to freeze over.
